A hybrid Belgian Dubbel style ale touched by American hops, dried black figs, candied ginger, and sweet orange peel. Warm brown in color with a tan head. Aromas of toasted malts, cocoa, and herbal notes. Comforting toasted brown bread, dried dark fruit, and restrained spices in the flavors. Medium light body finishing clean and toasty.
I don't try to brew beers like others have already made. But I am inspired by the many great beers brewed by others. For inspiration for this beer I took a look at all the recipes (they're on the internets) in the Stone Vertical Epic series to find common threads. Then crafted a recipe that should have the spirit of the series, a bit of the character of a Stone brew, and a healthy BCT twist.
